Project TAAL operates through a multi-tier approach in integrating performance-based pedagogies. The primary effort of the initiative centers on creating multisensory learning environments where traditional academic content is complemented through musical activities, rhythmic exercises, and creative expression that accommodate diverse cognitive processing styles. The project begins by collating the experiences and perspectives of multiple stakeholders in the education and healthcare system. Implementation of the project framework begins with a structured teaching manual to equip educators with evidence-based strategies for incorporating performance arts into special education curricula. The initiative also follows through with a direct student engagement, where participants experience hands-on exposure to performance arts education tailored to their unique capabilities and learning profiles. These workshops combine both vocal performances and drama-based arts to help students acquire communication and social skills.
The initiative expands its reach through a community-based fundraising effort that aspires to generate funding for establishing a permanent performance-based learning infrastructure at the partner NGO. The space hopes to serve as a permanent abode and a reminder of alternative educational approaches for students with intellectual and learning disabilities.
